The following decisions can be made in Caribbean 21 like you used to in Blackjack:

  • Hit
  • Stand
  • Double
  • Re-double
  • Split
  • Surrender

The following rules differentiate Caribbean from Blackjack:

  • Caribbean 21 provides the player with the chance to split any 2 initial cards.
  • Also, after making the first double, the player can hit or re-double.
  • This game is played with 8, 52-card decks.
  • All cards in Caribbean 21 are counted and valued just similar to the blackjack game, except for Ace. Ace Is Always Valued One In Caribbean 21
  • The player who makes the first wager begins the game.
  • The player will receive 2 cards face up.
  • The dealer will get an additional card face up.
  • In Caribbean 21, the dealer cannot take hole cards.
  • The player can stand, hit, split, double or surrender.
  • The hit and stand options are pretty similar like in regular blackjack.
  • The player can also choose to double at any point in time with 2 or more cards.
  • After splitting you can double or even redouble.

Split Rules:

  • You can split any 2 cards. The Ace can be split like any other card unlike in Blackjack. There are no special split rules applicable for Ace.
  • After splitting the 2 cards, every card hand should be dealt with extra cards instantly.

Surrender Limitations and Advantage

  • The player can surrender the cards any time and there is no restriction about when they have to surrender; however, by doing this they will be losing half their total. The surrender is a bit advantageous because, rather than losing the whole bet you will be losing only half the bet.
  • In cases where you split, surrendering can be done hand by hand. There is no need that you should surrender both the hands, you can choose to surrender one and play the other or surrender both.

Winning Hands

  • An Ace with two 10-point cards is considered the best of the "Caribbean 21" hand when compared with other 21 total hands.
  • In cases of split hands also An Ace with two 10-point cards is considered to be the best.
  • When a comparison of such happens where there is an Ace with two 10-point cards and another hand with 21 total, this is a tie.  In cases of such a tie even if the player has the Ace and 10-point cards, the dealer will win. Any kind of tie, the dealer wins!!!

Pay Out:

A player winning a bet will be getting even money; however, only the initial Caribbean 21 will pay 3-2.

Insurance:

If the up card of the dealer has an Ace, the player can make the insurance versus the dealer; however, if the dealer does not make a Caribbean 21, then the player who made insurance will lose his insurance money. The insurance can be taken at any time and the sum insured can be for anything as high as half the total bet.

If the dealer gets two 10 point cards as 2nd and 3rd cards, then the insurances will pay 9:1.
