Baccarat is a game played with 6 or 8 deck of cards.
The dealer will be dealing two hands:
- The banker’s hand.
- The player’s hand.
Betting Proceeds
- The bet can be placed on either the banker or the player.
- The bet can also be placed on a tie between the banker and the player’s hands.
Pay Offs:
- The payment for the winner is 1:1.
- If you place the bet on the banker and win you get 1:1 payment.
- If you place the bet on the player and win you get 1:1 payment.
- There is no difference between payouts for banker and player’s hands.
Value Of Cards
The value of a particular hand is arrived at by adding the value of the individual hands, all the ten and face cards are considered to be holding “zero†as the value.
Rules for Player's hand
- If the total of the two initial cards for the player’s hand is 6 or more, then the player should stand without drawing another card.
- If the total of the two initial cards for the player’s hand is 5 or less than 5, then the player has to draw another card.
Rules for Banker's hand
- If the total of the two initial cards for the banker’s hand is 7 or more, then the player should stand without drawing another card.
- If the total of the two initial cards is 0, 1, or 2 with the banker, then the banker has to draw.
- If the total of the two initial cards is 3, 4, 5, or 6 with the banker, then the draw made by the player’s hand will decide on the need to have the draw done by the banker. In this case, the value of the draw card of the player will be a major consideration.
Commissions
- A 5% commission is charged for those who make bets on the banks having the odds of winning, the net odds on such bets 0.95:1. In some casinos, the percentage of commission can be just 4%. The commission difference varies between casinos.
- In cases of tie bets some will provide with 8:1 pay off and this also varies between casinos.
- The pay offs for the player’s or the banker’s bet will be based on the circumstances influencing the tie.
Other Rules For The Bets And Values
- Bets cannot be altered after they are placed.
- The fixed rules applicable for the banker and the player for the final hands with 2 or 3 cards should be strictly followed.
- Tens and face cards are valued zero and cards 1 to 9 are taken at their face value.
- The hand which will have the maximum value becomes the winner after addition.
- When both the player and the banker have a same value, then it is a tie.
